Lindstrom Fire Hall progressing

Lindstrom’s new fire station, under construction a couple blocks south of city hall, may look stalled-out just judging from the exterior— but the interior is 95 percent complete.  Lindstrom Fire Chief Scott Sellman said a move-in date in May is possible, but he couldn’t give a firm schedule at this time.  Even when occupancy is triggered, it will be a couple week-long process to get everything shifted from the fire hall on mainstreet. When the move begins Chief Sellman wants to be sure the structure is absolutely ready to be put into use.  The department can not work out of two sites concurrently and have a long dragged-out relocation, he stressed.

At this time the new building awaits a heavy duty meter installation and construction workers are using temporary power.  A walk-through and creation of the punchlist of items needing attention will be scheduled in the not too distant future.  In spring there’s much sitework still to put final touches on, Sellman added.
