Will Hennen wraps up ski career with 22nd place at state alpine meet
The senior from CL finished 22nd out of 88 skiers at the state meet at Giants Ridge Resort in Biwabik on Tuesday, February 14 in what would be his final meet for the green and gold.
His best work came on the red run, where he finished in 38.62 seconds, which was the 13th best time on the day on that course.
He had a very clean run on the blue course later in the day, and although he wasn’t as fast as his first run, he still put together the 28th best time on that course.
Those two times combined for a 1:19.60, which earned him the top 25 finish.
Josh Nelson of West Lutheran won the state individual title with a time of 1:14.33.
Elsa Dahl was the lone qualifier for the Chisago Lakes girls team. The eldest of three sisters on the team, Elsa finished her career with the state meet, which is an incredible accomplishment in and of itself.
Her day started well, as the senior clocked the 30th best time on the blue course to open her meet, but a big fall on the red course left Dahl unable to finish her race, she was one of the 11 girls that weren’t able to finish the two courses.
Taylor Voigt of Hill-Murray was the state champion with a time of 1:15.32.
