Georgia G. Simenson, age 87, of Lindstrom, MN passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023 surrounded by family.

Georgia (“Gigi”) was born in Thief River Falls, MN in November, 1935 to Carl and Dorothy Gulrud. A good student, she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. Moving to Minneapolis, Georgia worked as an Operator for Northwestern Bell. In 1956 she married her high school sweetheart Robert Simenson in Thief River. They had started dating when both were in their school play “Our Town” as seniors. The Simensons lived in LaCrosse, Indianapolis, Duluth, Minneapolis and Lindstrom. In Lindstrom, Georgia worked as an administrator at insurance agencies and then for years as a Legal Assistant for a private attorney and the Chisago County Attorney’s Office. She enjoyed music, reading, gardening, sewing, and cooking. Georgia became an expert in pottery, finding items at area garage and estate sales which she listed on eBay and shipped across the world.

Georgia was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.

Preceded in death by parents Carl and Dorothy, sister Betty, and husband of 62 years, Robert.

Survived by sons Robert (Laurie) and William (Michelle), grandchildren Steven (Courtney) and Erin, and great-grandchildren Eloise and Henry.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, February 5 from noon-4pm with a Celebration of Life at 1:30pm at the Cremation Society of MN Chapel, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park, MN.
