Festival time is here folks
Karl Oskar Days is here and in full swing. As I mentioned here before, the haul for finding the snuff box has increased greatly this year to a whopping $1,000! That’s a lot of spending money for having fun looking around the area and enjoying Karl Oskar Days.
We have had multiple inquiries as to why we don’t show a photo of the snuff box. Well, we infact do show what it looks like every year when we run a photo of the finders holding the prize and the snuff box. But we have never run a photo of the box prior to the hunt and yet every year it is found. It’s all part of the lore. Good luck hunting this year!
Today (Thursday) the ambassadors get crowned at 6:30pm at Lions Park in Lindstrom.
Diva Shopping continues and you will need to register at the Oven Mitt store before heading out to other stores if you wish to play bingo at 7:30pm.
Take a look at our giant Karl Oskar Days spread on pages 6-10 for all KOD events taking place. We will see you out there!
As if Karl Oskar Days wasn’t enough, the very next week will be Taylors Falls chance to entertain us. Wannigan Days runs July 14-16 and is filled with fun for all ages. Mark your calendars. Taylors Falls will feature a car show, a huge lumberjack breakfast, cash bingo, a kiddie parade, and Austin Healy and ‘Show Me Your Hits’ will play Friday and Saturday on the big stage next to Romaynes. See page 14 for all the details.
Lastly, if you are a jet ski owner and your kids use them by themselves, think about giving them advice on how to ride near other watercraft. We saw five near misses Saturday out on the lake and each time it was a teenager driving recklessly. The last thing I want to print in this paper is a police report on a serious crash out on the water.
