Bruce Alan Wennberg of Chisago County passed away peacefully on July 4, 24 days shy of his 71st birthday.

The eldest of three children born to Donald and Joan Wennberg, Bruce is survived by his sister Karen Wennberg (Brian) and brother Brent Wennberg (Michele); also, his niece Alexandra and nephew Anders. 

After graduating from Chisago Lakes High School in 1970, Bruce earned an associates degree from the University of Minnesota Technical Institute in Crookston. He found great pleasure working in the “fields” of agriculture. His stories were of getting the last load to the elevator before closing time, always “a few” pounds over the limit, always finding a back road or two to avoid the scales. He worked most of his adult life as an over-the-road hauler, nurturing his love for the open road and the vastness of our great nation. From the cab of an 18 wheeler, Bruce logged over three million miles across all of the lower 48 states, except Rhode Island. He supported Ducks Unlimited, loved a good farm auction, and making new friends in local cafes and church congregations across east central Minnesota. 

He will be remembered by many for his kindness and generosity. Bruce Wennberg was a rough cut, diamond in the rough. May he rest in peace in the arms of his savior, Jesus Christ.
