Henry Arthur Martinson, age 86, of Center City, MN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
He was born on February 19, 1937 in Ladysmith, WI to Ralph and Pauline (Jamoski) Martinson. He graduated from Denfeld High School. In 1970, he married Beverly Bode, settling in Center City where they raised their daughter but later parted ways. He had many people that he enjoyed spending time with through the years. In 2018, he lost his special friend Dottie who he loved to spend time with. They enjoyed playing cards, going to visit their brothers and sisters, drives to the Cheese house in Grantsburg to get an ice cream cone, taking their lawn chairs to the river or to Harmony in the Park.
Hank was a laborer “49’er” driving the blade for Metro Curbing for many years. He hauled milk on the weekends for a part time job. He worked for Shafer Contracting the last few years before retirement. He enjoyed driving his tractor, riding his lawnmower, and working in his garden which got bigger each year. He would barter with others for sweet corn, etc. He enjoyed giving it to people as he would get zucchini bread, salsa. etc. in return. Hank and his brother compared to see who had the bigger tomato plants. For several years he enjoyed spending time at the cabin fishing and snowmobiling. He enjoyed meeting his friends at the bakery for coffee and a donut. He loved playing cribbage with his friends, he would skunk them, or he would get skunked!
