Ronald Joseph Hofmann, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2023.  

Ron was born in Redwood Falls, MN. 1952, then moved to Lindstrom, MN, where he graduated from high school.  Ron went to Lakewood College for a football scholarship; which he loved to play and was very good at.

Ron married his high school sweetheart, Kay and was married for 52 years.  Ron was a caring and loving husband. The greatest time in Ron’s life was going to Greg May’s in Montana with his best friend Bob Olson, his cousins Jim, Ed, and Kevin Eichten and sons Keith and Jason Hofmann.  They would shoot animals until the guns were so hot, they would have to stop shooting.  They would have to wait for them to cool off to start shooting again.   Ron also loved going to Birch Ridge Resort fishing.   Ron owned Hofmann Construction Company and enjoyed working alongside his two sons, Keith and Jason.  In his life Ron also owned and operated four Dairy Queen stores, including the Lindstrom and North Branch locations.  He also owned two bars - Rocky J’s and the Olde Brick Inn, three Subways and did many other handyman jobs.  

Ron might have seemed a little tough on the outside, but he had a heart of gold.  Ron worked so very hard until his last days.  He had so many friends and family and would do anything for any of them.

Ron is preceded in death by his infant son Ronald Joseph Hofmann Jr.; parents Frank and Janet Hofmann; sister Marge; brother Bob; sister-in-law Sunny Hofmann; brother-in-law Bruce George and many aunts and uncles.

Ron is survived by his wife Kay, his sons Keith (Jessica) and Jason (Nina); grandchildren; Krystin (Taylor) Bubois, Ethan Matthew and Jace Hofmann; great-grandchild Ren Bubois;  his brother Rich (Anita);  sisters Marlene and Bev (Gary), brother-in-law David and many nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.grandstrand fh.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
