Law Enforcement



Area law enforcement had multiple encounters with wildlife over the past week, they dispatched a sick raccoon, put down a deer with a broken leg, tended to an owl that was injured and went to the raptor center, and collected a fawn deceased in rural Chisago City...this was in addition to the usual domestic animal incidents.

There were four vandalism reports starting at Lindstrom beach shelter and heading out from there to the channel bridge between North and South Lindstrom lakes, to the County Road 20 bridge (North Lakes Trail) to Allemansratt Park, where a building was spray painted.

There was a big party featuring underage drinking that resulted in seven tickets and the arrest of an 18-year-old, who was cited for hosting, Adrian Yadiel Esteves-Negron.  The case began with a report of disorderly conduct in Chisago City at 3:40 a.m. Juveniles found in a vehicle with alcoholic beverages, officers took the rolling party back to the house where it all got started and wrote the tickets.  The adult homeowner, who was out of town, granted permission for police to enter.

July 22 a structure fire was reported about 4 p.m. on Morgan Avenue south of Lindstrom, homeowner was transported for medical care. 

Motorcycle pursuit on I-35 went into Anoka County where the bike was stopped in the Wildlife Management Area. Driver was apprehended and found to be not in possession of a valid license and the motorcycle was reported stolen, incident began about 7:48 p.m.

Fuel spill in Chisago City required fire department for clean-up. Reported about 8 p.m.  Driver of car that had gas pumped in just prior to the spill fled in vehicle.

July 21

A Bitcoin scam convinced a Harris resident to deposit over $1,500 in a Bitcoin “kiosk” which is unretrievable.  Story was told to the victim that to “protect” their accounts which were reported to have been compromised, they had to remotely transfer amounts.

July 20

A car hit a deck on a house on Athens Trail in Lent Township, about 7 p.m.  Driver was unhurt, said it was to avoid a deer.

July 18

Deputies dispatched on noise complaint with Hursh Ironworks in Center City. Equipment and an employee were making noise at 6 a.m. A verbal warning was given for ordinance violations.
