The man who allegedly killed a woman from St. Paul after crushing her under a pickup truck in Wyoming last week was arrested and charged within four days including the weekend.
According to a statement of probable cause released from the Chisago County Attorney’s Office, videotape has been secured from surveillance cameras covering the Wyoming Holiday Station, showing images of the person, allegedly Mark A. Wiosky, driving a pickup truck that ran over a woman about 10:20 p.m, Thursday, June 22.
Witnesses say Wiosky and the victim had been in an altercation that included Wiosky allegedly flicking a cigarette inside the victim’s vehicle and also reaching in and grabbing the keys out of the ignition.
The woman can be seen following Wiosky back to his truck and reaching into the open window of the vehicle.
The driver of the truck accelerated away as the victim hung on to the open window.
Their altercation— whatever its cause— ended with bystanders trying to stem the blood flow from head trauma inflicted when the woman, 51, lost her grip and the truck traveled over her body. Lifesaving measures undertaken by EMS were unsuccessful.
That pickup driver made his first court appearance Monday, June 26, after contacting local authorities and arranging for his apprehension Friday.
Wiosky, 37, who gave an address located between Forest Lake and rural Chisago City, reportedly told investigators he’d used methamphetamine an hour prior to arriving at the gas station. Wiosky acknowledged he and the female victim had been in an argument.
Charges filed include third degree murder perpetrating an eminently dangerous act and criminal vehicular homicide schedule II controlled substance.
His next court appearance is July 7. Bail is $750,000 with no conditions and $250,000 conditional.
