Relative of triple homicide victim is main suspect
A press release from the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office reports Kenneth Koslowski died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Dakota County and the firearm found at the scene matches ballistics developed from the evidence tied to the Fish Lake triple murder scene, which was discovered Sunday March 5.
Koslowski is a resident of North Branch. The self inflicted fatal shot is believed to have happened Friday, March 3. It has not been explained why the apparent suicide took place in Dakota County.
Investigators also say Koslowski was placed in the area of the Fish Lake Township home during the time of the shootings.
The Chisago County sheriff’s office is also looking into the possible motive and if any other suspects are involved.
Koslowski is the maiden name of the woman who died in the Fish Lake Township home, Denise Mattson, age 68. Her husband Darrell, 73 and Kirk Mattson, no age provided, were also found dead of gunshot wounds when authorities acted on a request Sunday March 5 to check the home on Brunswick Road.
The Carlson-Lillemon Funeral Home in Cambridge is handling arrangements for the Mattson memorial services, scheduled for April 11.
