Community guide can help your business; egg hunt, waffle meal
The Press is getting started on our annual Chisago Lakes Area Community and Visitor Guide. I think we started the guide my second year here at the Press and each year it has continued to grow. Last year we eclipsed the 100 page mark and this year looks to be bigger yet.
If you have never seen one of our guides, it is jam packed with information about our area with valuable contact information for just about everything around. We also have maps of the area, lake maps, basically everything a person visiting or moving to the area would need.
Why am I telling you all this? Because if you are a business owner, or you think your business would benefit from being in the magazine, this is a great time to contact us. We can help you create an inexpensive, attractive ad that will help bring residents and visitors to your business.
The best part of advertising in the guide is the ad lasts for one year. The guides are sent out to residents but they also are distributed around the lower county year ‘round in restaurants, lobbies, waiting rooms, the chamber of commerce, realtors offices, the sculpture park and more.
Give us a call at 651-257-5115 or email us at [email protected] if you are interested. We would love to include you in the guide this year!
Only a few more weeks left for the St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church fish fry. They have had tremendous turnout and I would expect those numbers to get even higher as Lent nears an end. The dinner is served from 5-7 p.m. Friday evenings with food-to-go available from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Don’t wait.
I know this is a bit early for Easter, but I am telling you so you can mark it on your calendars. The folks at Chisago City Parks would like to invite you and your children to their ever popular Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt is held at Paradise Park on April 1 and begins at 2pm.
Thousands of eggs are hidden around the park for children to find. Don’t worry about your kids getting knocked over by older children, they keep seperate groups together for each egg hunt area.
Also at the egg hunt are a coloring contest, games for kids, a bonnet/hat contest (you decorate your own at home), photo opportunity with the Easter bunny and much more.
I have been to this many many times, and my suggestion is get there early.
The hunts begin promptly and you don’t want your kids to miss out. It looks like we will have snow for the event so have them dress accordingly please. Oh, and I forgot to mention the event is free.
On Saturday, March 25 the Chisago Lakes Lions Club is holding a Swedish Waffle Day celebration. It is an all you can eat waffle meal that features Belgian waffles, sausage, milk and juice. The meal is going to be held at the Chisago Lake Township Hall (12400 316th street, Lindstrom). The meal runs from 8-11:30 am. I am getting hungry just writing this.
