Mahlon Hanson
Mick graduated from Lindstrom-Center City High School in 1963. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966 from the University of Minnesota and then his Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1969. His professional career included serving as Chief Judge for the Minnesota Workers Compensation Court of Appeals. While working for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, he was Deputy Regional Counsel in St. Paul, MN and then Deputy District Council in Miami, FL. Before retiring, Mick was an Immigration Judge at the Miami Immigration Court.
After retiring, he was on the Board of Directors for the Immigration Reform Law Institute. Mick also served as a Staff Judge Advocate Officer in the U.S. Army on active duty and as a reservist. He retired as a Colonel.
Mick enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives, picking agates, playing video poker at the casinos, traveling, playing cards and board games, and writing articles.
Mick is survived by his former wife Judy; his son, Dane and his wife, Kim; his daughter Shana; his stepdaughter Amber and her husband, Carlos; his stepson Jon; seven grandsons: DeShawn, Malachi, Elijah, Nathan, Ryan, Benjamin, and Will; and two step grandchildren. Mick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie; his parents; his brother, Ronald; an infant brother, Gary; and an infant sister.
