Chisago Lakes sports a perfect 3-0 record on the year, and they’ve had a good mix of competitive games and and blowouts that have gotten a lot of players on the score sheet.

Chisago Lakes 17, Becker 5

The Wildcats opened up the season with a 12 goal blowout of Becker Monday, April 24.

They held a 9-2 lead at half and only piled on more in the second half for the final margin of victory.

Kaianna Senne led the Wildcats with four goals and Kamryn Peterson had three. Three girls chipped in two goals apiece, including Camryn Hinsch, Sydney Kerkow and Katelyn Anderson.

Kaley Paehlke, Raeann Goehring, Evi Reedy and Aly Vogelsang all also added goals as the ‘Cats separated themselves from the Bulldogs early.

Sophomore goalie Laura Carlson picked up where she left off last year with a strong showing, making six saves for the ‘Cats.

Chisago Lakes 10, Monticello 8

Chisago Lakes had the closest game of the year so far in a 10-8 nailbiter over Monticello on Thursday, April 27.

The ‘Cats rode Skylar Wells and Peterson in a strong first half that saw them gain the upperhand with a 6-3 lead. But, Monticello wouldn’t go away in the second half and continued to play strong defense while potting five goals of their own.

Chisago Lakes was able to keep the Magic at bay however, as Goehring and Hinsch had a pair of goals each and  Reedy and Senne both scored a goal for the ‘Cats.

Carlson was again a star for CL. She faced 23 shots from the Magic attack and made 15 saves. She was the difference, and Monticello’s goalie had only eight saves on 18 shots.

Chisago Lakes 10, St. Cloud Tech 3

The defense played exceptionally well in Chisago Lakes’ 10-3 win over St. Cloud Tech on Monday, May 1.

With the CL offense only putting up 10 goals, the defense stepped up big and never allowed Tech to get close or threaten with a surge of their own.

Peterson had three goals again for the ‘Cats and Wells added two. Kerkow, Hinsch, Reedy, Senne and Lauren Schmidt were the other Wildcats to score a goal.

Carlson made seven saves on 10 shots for CL.
