Leland M. Swenson, age 78 of Center City passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2023 with family by his side. 

Leland was born in Osceola, Wisconsin on May 6, 1944 to parents, Milford and Ada (Fredrickson) Swenson.  He spent his childhood growing up in Scandia on the family farm and graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1962.  Leland married Linda Pearson on February 4, 1967 at Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia. Leland worked at the Scandia Feed Mill and then attended the University of Minnesota for two years before entering the U.S. Air Force where he served his country during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969.  Upon his return from military duty he and Linda settled in Roseville where he worked at Control Data.  He and Linda eventually moved and built a home in Lindstrom and Leland worked for Wally Carlson and Sons for several years. Leland expanded his education and started a career at Plastic Products where he worked many years before retiring in 2006.  He loved farming, woodworking and gardening and was very proud of his family.

Leland was a proud husband to Linda for 56 years and father to sons, Greg of Center City, Jeff (fiancé Ashley Peltier) of Scandia and Brad (Jessica Rodrique) of Shafer; his brothers, Gaylon (Linda) Swenson, Larry (Liz) Jones, Lloyd (Jeanette) Jones, Gordy (Chris) Jones and Brian (Kari) Jones; sister, Susan (Cory) Anderson; his seven grandchildren, Gianna, Chase, Mya, Dawson, Delaney, Annika and Alyssa as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Ada; stepfather, Bob Jones and brother, Duane.

No services will be held at this time. A private family graveside service will take place at Elim Lutheran Cemetery in Scandia at a later date.
