The local Boards of Appeal and Equalization wrapped up their schedule last week, completing the first phase of a multi-phase taxable property valuation reviewal process.
Some areas saw several properties’ valuations appealed in hearings (see North Branch council text) while other jurisdictions opened their public valuation reviews with no residents requesting time on the agenda.
Anybody who feels they still warrant an adjustment and who wishes to continue their property valuation appeal must reserve a time slot for the County Board’s review by May 24.
The County Board considers any valuation appeals that were denied locally, in a taxation hearing June 13. You need to have brought your case to the attention of your local appeal and equalization group prior to it being heard by the County Commissioners.
Chisago County has added more than 1,300 new home structures in the last five very active years in real estate. New homes are among a host of other factors impacting property valuations in all governmental jurisdictions— demonstrating the county is a desired location.
