May 3 A youth found a handgun in wooded area in Chisago City and Lakes Area Police took possession. The serial number had nothing attached and authorities will retain the firearm.

The bench in front of a quilting business on South Dana in Rush City was reported stolen overnight.

A dog bite incident on Lindstrom Lane, involving an animal who was the subject of other complaints,  was reported to Lakes Area Police. On further investigation the owner informed police he had an appointment to have the dog put down. 

May 5 Snapchat distributed a threat for a school shooting supposedly to happen in the morning at Chisago Lakes Middle School but local law enforcement checked it out and determined it was a hoax. There was a brief shelter in place alert.

A device set up to deter woodpeckers from damaging property on Hillcrest Drive in Chisago City could be heard emitting a high pitch tone and neighbors complained and the officer also could hear it.  Property owner was advised to remove device.

SWAT and local officers were dispatched to a motel in North Branch on report a domestic assault suspect barricaded himself in a room. False report, suspect was not there.

May 6 a large gathering of all terrain vehicles reported at an address on Holman Avenue in Harris, about 6:45 p.m.  Person contacted by deputies said the city granted a special permit for the ATVs to use city right of way from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Theft from property outside of Almelund, on Silver Ave.

May 7 doors and scrap lumber dumped at landing on South Center Lake. Discovered about 3:40 a.m.

Two ATV incidents in Lindstrom, where riders needed to be reminded no ATVs are allowed on city streets.
