Karen L. Rider (nee Flatum), age 79, passed away on May 10, 2023 in the Cape Coral Hospital. She was born in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin on December 1, 1943 to parents, Arden and Louise Flatum. She lived in Taylors Falls, Minnesota until 2010 then became a permanent resident in North Fort Myers, FL.

Karen is preceded in death by her husband Gene Rider; parents, Arden & Louise Flatum; brother, Dwight Flatum; and sister, Ardis McAthie. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Dave) Rider, Kelly (Doug) Koutek, and Dale (Cindy) Rider; grandchildren, Brittany Koutek, Ashley (Thomas) Gustafson, Joshua Rider, Brianna (Dale) Nelson, and Ryan Campbell; and three great grandchildren.

Karen loved spending time with family & friends, gardening, baking, cooking for family & friends, and playing cards and puzzles. She was baptized in 1969 as a Jehovah's Witness and served faithfully until the very end.

Visitation will be held 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, Minnesota. Interment at Kahbakong Cemetery in Taylors Falls, Minnesota.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Florida 1:30 PM Saturday, June 17, 2023. The celebration will be livestreamed via Zoom and available to access with Meeting ID: 839-72384349 and Passcode: 558541.
