Although the Chisago Lakes boys cross country team made it to the state meet on Saturday, November 4, the two Chisago Lakes girls who also qualified stole the show.
Junior Kaia Osmundson finished in seventh place overall at the Class AA state meet, finishing the route at Les Bolstad Golf Course at the University of Minnesota in 18:38.0. The .0 was important too, as St. Paul Highland Park’s Grace Lewis-Mosher finished in eighth place with a time of 18:38.1.
Osmundson’s finish is her highest ever at the state meet, and she really set the tone for her senior season.
Annika Hall, the eighth grade phenom, finished in 12th place overall, the highest finisher among either eighth or ninth graders. The young sensation crossed the finish line in just 19:07.4, mere seconds from earning a top 10 finish.
Boys
The boys made the state meet as a team, and they were highlighted by junior Biruk Killeen’s nice run that earned him 38th overall, but 18th in the team scores. He came across the line in 16:35.9.
Remy Larsen, a freshman, was CL’s next finisher across, with a time of 17:52.2 to come in 76th place in the team reace and 120th overall.
