Susan Marie (Cossalter) Georgiev, of North Branch, Minnesota, passed away September 17, 2023. 

Susan was born in Duluth, MN August 19, 1943 to Romulus and Helen (Peterson) Cossalter. 

Susan graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. For over three decades, she was a devoted elementary school teacher at Stadley Rough School in Danbury, CT. Susan’s love for her students and her profession was legendary. On a few occasions, she had the children of former students in her classroom. 

Additionally, Susan shared their home with the many dogs she adored and raised. While in Danbury, Susan had a large network of close friends and co-workers who were like family to her. Stories have been told far and wide of her escapades and adventures. 

In 1987, Susan married Simeon Georgiev in Danbury where they continued to live until moving back to Minnesota in 2006. Living in North Branch, Susan continued to stay active as a volunteer in area classrooms and also as a CCD instructor at her church, St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom. 

Susan was predeceased by Simeon, her parents, nephew and niece Paul and Karen Cossalter. She is survived by her siblings Ellery (JoAnn) Cossalter, Duane Cossalter, Tim (Ellen Cohen) Cossalter, Melanie Eubank, nieces, nephews and their children. 

A visitation at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church, 13060 Lake Blvd., PO Box 754, Lindstrom, is scheduled for Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Esko, MN.
