Felicia (Marlett) Otto

Felicia R. Otto, age 50, of Menomonie, WI passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.

Felicia was born June 27, 1973, in Menomonie Wisconsin to Weldon and Emily (Kerestes) Marlett. She was baptized at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville by her grandfather.  At the age of one, Felicia lost her father to a motorcycle accident. In 1982 her mother married and to this union two brothers were given her.

The family resided in Lindstrom Minnesota, and Felicia attended Chisago Lakes School and excelled in all her classes. As her parents were remodeling their home, Felicia helped on many projects. She adored her brothers, and always found fun ways of playing with them.

She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom. In her high school years, she worked at the Lindstrom Bakery. That summer before her senior year, Felicia was chosen Queen of Lindstrom "Miss Karl Oskar". She spent all summer that year going to towns to ride on her float representing Lindstrom. It was during this summer she was invited to ride in the Boyceville WI Pickle Days parade, this is where she met Sean Otto, and they began dating.

In her senior year, she was accepted into the Air Force Academy. Felicia graduated in 1991 from Chisago Lakes High School and took flying lessons that next summer. She moved to Boyceville to live with her grandparents Reverend and Mrs. Louis Kerestes to attend University of Wisconsin Stout and be closer to Sean. She was a reserve police officer during this time. In 1994, she married Sean, and to their union they had four children, Tre', Dacia, Vandyn and Keayn.

Sean and Felicia started their own business Clean Team, and had many contracts in the Menomonie area. Felicia was also Municipal Judge for the town of Boyceville for a six-year term.  Afterwards she became an office manager for Dunn County News. In 2012 Felicia also was a licensed realtor for Coldwell Banker.

Felicia kept a beautiful home and filled it with many thrifted finds. She loved decorating her home for every holiday, inside and out. In 2012 Felicia and Sean ended their marriage. In 2013 Felicia met Richard Baier. In 2014 Felicia was diagnosed with breast cancer. She wanted her children around her and raised her youngest boys.

Felicia and Ric made their home in Menomonie. They enjoyed thrift shopping, dining out and trips to Texas, Las Vegas and Airbnb's. Felicia loved cars, and with Rick she got to drive and own almost all on her bucket list, Corvette, Masserati, Escalade, Prowler, Challenger, Mercedes, BMW and Jaguars.

Felicia's cancer worsened and started to spread, and her last years were spent at doctor appointments, trying new pills, blood draws and chemo, but she never complained. Her faithful companion Ric was there every step of the way. Her driving goal was to see all her children become grown adults, before she left, she succeeded. In 2023 the cancer spread to her organs; her final days were spent in Hospice Care in their home.

Felicia was preceded in death by her father Weldon, maternal grandparents Reverend Louis and Eleanor Kerestes and paternal grandparents Noble and Helen Marlett.

Felicia is survived by her significant other Ric Baier; her children Tre', Dacia, Vandyn and Keayn; Ric's children Joe and Asher; parents Jerry and Emily Oslund; brothers Joshua and Jordan. She is further survived by her nieces, nephews, friends, and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

We will miss her fierce spirit.

A visitation honoring Felicia will be held from 1–3 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI.

"The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away,

Blessed be the name of the Lord."
