James Leroy Hunter,  loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away in Aurora, Colorado on August 28, 2023.

Born to Steve and Vicki Greene in Wheat Ridge, Colorado in 1966. James graduated from Foothill High School in Pleasanton, CA and went on to earn his degree in Political Science from the University of California at Davis. James later married and took the surname of his stepfather Dave Hunter. Soon after, he welcomed the birth of his son and daughter.

James spent many years working for Safeway while in college and later transferred to the Monterey, CA store where he became a fixture in the community. He returned to the Bay Area where he worked in anumber of retail management positions. In December 2006 James moved to Minnesota to start a new chapter in his life and settled in North Branch, MN. James was a believer in Jesus Christ and was a devoted member of Restoration Church of Rush City, MN. He found a work home at Hoffman Weber Construction, a local contractor specializing in residential home remodeling. James wore many hats at Hoffman Weber, including Home Energy Auditor, Warehouse Manager, and Drone Pilot. He was on an extended work assignment in Colorado at his time of passing.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Greene and Vicki Hunter. He is survived by his son Jeff Hunter, his daughter Kate Hunter, brothers Steve Greene, Jeff Greene (Kris), sister Jennifer Shull (Scott), stepfather Dave Hunter, nephew Jake Shull, and nieces Kaycee Shull, Emily Kay, and Olivia Greene.

A celebration of life will be held on October 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Main Street Church, 6500 Main Street, North Branch, MN, 55056.
