Junior Kaia Osmundson and eighth grader Annika Hall continued their back-and-forth friendly duel on the cross country courses this week at the Mississippi 8 Conference championships at Ki-Chi-Saga County Park in Lindstrom. Hall, an eighth grader, came in second place with a time of 18:19.20 to earn All Conference. Osmundson finished third with a time of 18:24.80, also earning All-M8C.
The girls team needed every bit of those finishes, as the Wildcats were crowned the Mississippi 8 Conference champions by finishing with 63 points, just one ahead of Becker’s 64 points. Lainey Hallan also had an All-M8C finish for Chisago Lakes.
Just last week at the Princeton Tiger Invitational, Hall broke Osmundson’s school record by finishing third in 134 competitor field with an 18:21.1. Osmundson came in sixth in that meet with an 18:49.8.
The top runner in the state, Forest Lake’s Norah Hushagen won the meet.
