Wyoming City Council sets roadwork assessment hearing
The property owners to be assessed for some of the Fallbrook and 264th road improvements now have a date for the hearing that is held for establishing the charges. The Wyoming City Council set November 21 for the hearing at city hall. Notices should also be mailed.
City Engineer Mark Erichson explained the front foot charge resulting from the project expense is now $30.32. Wyoming assesses only 20 percent of the project’s eligible costs to benefitting property owners.
The work itself is nearing completion with paving expected this week. Final restoration work is scheduled for spring 2024 because of weather.
Council members approved hiring Erickson-Northstar for doing a utility rate study, which is the basis for future action revising charges for sewer and water.
Wyoming last did a rate study five years ago, City Administrator Linwood explained. The studies are meant to be viable for about five years, so this analysis should cover costs and expenses and be applicable until 2028. The firm is charging $16,800 for the analysis. Linwood said four companies submitted quotes and this is the preferred choice.
Disc golf baskets will be installed at Verges and Fireside city parks. The baskets will serve as practice locations. Cost is $1,200 total.
Wyoming has a nine-hole disc golf course at 25578 Iris Avenue in Comfort Lake Park.
Council heard that the individual baskets are easily relocated if they don’t see much use.
