Power loss September 3

A loss of power in Chisago City September 3, created a bunch of extra hours and reports for local law enforcement, not to mention work for Xcel Energy crews.  The power went out to 3,125 customers Sunday, according to the Xcel Energy spokesperson.  Loss of power triggers security and medical device alarms and businesses lacking generators had issues.  This outage also involved firefighters being sent to deal with a smoldering tree reported tangled with an energized power line, on Johnson Lane.  The resulting smoke etcetera was noticed about 3:45 p.m. Two thirds of the affected Xcel customers were reconnected in about 90 minutes and the remainder came back on the grid by a little after midnight, Theo Keith added.

Four juveniles were reportedly observed about 6:20 p.m. in an abandoned structure in Lindstrom, on Vine Street (next to old Dinnerbel) and Lakes Area Police were able to detain the youth, identify them, speak with their parents and they were cited for fleeing and trespass.

August 28 a structure odor, reported as a gas leak sent Chisago City firefighters to an address on Liberty Lane, but it was not natural gas.  Incident reported around 7:45 p.m.
