Fun fact: The national incident based reporting system or NIBRS data show that for 2021, Chisago County got 613 reports of incidents, (there was no population estimate provided) Lakes Area Police recorded 409 incidents (for a population of 10,026) North Branch 366 total offenses (of a population of 10,908) and Wyoming Police reported 160 incidents (for a population of 8,112.)  

The two sheriff cars that are contracted for the Rush City area will be getting cutting edge portable FST fire suppresion units courtesy of a donation through the Masons. Jasper Lodge in Rush City, the MN Grand Lodge of Masons and MN Masonic Charities are giving $1,800 total.  The county commissioners approved the acceptance of the gift last week.

Lakes Area and county deputies initiated a search for a suspect who fled the scene of a crash near Kable Avenue, reported about 9:30 p.m.

Grassfire reported turned out to be a monitored, permitted burn. The area was off Newlander on the lake. Fire report came in at 7 p.m.

Multiple cases were checked out of someone camping (living in a tent) where they did not have permission, staying in empty vehicles and using a camper in an unauthorized area.
