Dwain D. Mansfield, age 56, of Chisago City, MN died unexpectedly at home of heart failure on September 18, 2023. Dwain was born in Kadoka, SD. He graduated from Sturgis High School in 1985. He is survived by his adoring wife of 30 years, Shari; loving children Devyn, Aidan (fiancée, Grace Kugel) and Alyxaine; trusted dog Milli; mother Anita; many other relatives, and an abundance of friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Dean and Beth Mansfield and Frieda Zimmermann; father Marvin Mansfield; and his in-laws Howard and Dorothy Gudvangen.

Dwain was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending most weekends with Shari, Milli, and family at their cabin on Mille Lacs Lake. An excellent fisherman (“Walleye Whisperer”), he always provided opportunities for others to catch “the biggest.” He had many friends to share laughs around a campfire. He also enjoyed camping and hunting in northern MN, as well as, golfing with his son. Dwain loved to travel everywhere and offer new experiences for his loved ones. He was an amazing chef - always creating and trying new recipes but kept family traditions alive by making the recipes he learned from his grandparents. He was a sports fan and enjoyed watching them all. Dwain was quick-witted, kind, and the best listener.  He could brighten anyone’s day with a joke or a smile. His laugh was infectious, his spirit filled the room, and his love will forever be in our hearts. 

It was Dwain’s wish to be cremated. A visitation gathering is scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 1-3 pm followed by a memorial tribute at  3 pm at  Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN.
