After a come-from-behind win over the Becker Bulldogs, the Chisago Lakes girls swimming and diving team got to cruise to an easy win over Cambridge-Isanti for their second straight Mississippi 8 Conference victory.

“We have had a great start to the season,” Head Coach Rachel Stauber said. “The athletes are working hard and continually pushing each other in practice. We have had many personal bests so far and can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds!”

The Cambridge-Isanti meet was chock full of impressive finishes for CL. The meet kicked off with a win in the 200 medley relay by Ellie Undem, Olivia Cunnigham, Joely Peterson and Madyson Perry.

The early lead quickly ballooned when Avery MacIver and Ingrid Olson grabbed the top two spots in the 200 free and Undem and Eloise Arntson finished back-to-back at the top of the podium in the 200 individual medley.

The meet was almost effectively ended at the 50 freestyle event when Perry, Lily Hubbard and Amy Fiorella swept the top three spots, all swimming under 28.85 seconds. That gave Chisago Lakes a 45-17 lead after just four events.

Although the Bluejackets took three of the top four spots in diving, they were still almost 20 points back, and CL quickly expanded that lead.

Peterson won in the 100 butterfly, Perry, Olson and Reese Blum went one-two-three in the 100 freestyle and Laura Carlson and  Fiorella claimed the top two spots in the 500 free, and the rout was back on. After the Wildcats got first and second place in the 200 free relay, they had a 49 point lead and were able to throttle down and go in exhibition mode with the meet  win wrapped up.

Undem and Hubbard still had nice swims in the 100 backstroke, and the teams of Arntson, Fiorella, Eva Fiorella and Olson and Carlson, MacIver, Hubbard and Perry took the top two spots in the 400 free relay to really top off the dominating meet.
