Mississippi 8 Conference Triangular
The Wildcats participated in a Mississippi 8 Conference Triangular with Monticello and Cambridge-Isanti at Cambridge-Isanti High School on Tuesday, April 9. The girls finished a close second to Monticello in the team standings, while the boys finished a distant third.
First place finishers for the girls were Lauren Kowarsch, 800 meters; Annika Hall, 1600 meters; the 4x200 relay team of Addy Barrett, Addison Griffin, Ava Bringgold and Bene’ Smith; the 4x800 relay team of Lainey Hallan, Kowarsch, Elanor Undem, and Kara Hall; Lily Hubbard, high jump; Barrett, long jump; and Kendra Warren, triple jump. There were no first-place winners among the boys.
Norm Ayen Invitational
The Wildcats returned to Cambridge-Isanti High School on Thursday, April 11 for the Norm Ayen invitational, an eight-team tournament featuring teams mostly from the Arrowhead region. Cambridge-Isanti dominated the boys’ side of things, but the Wildcat boys turned in a better performance than they had on Tuesday and finished third. The girls again performed well and finished fourth, just behind the host team from Cambridge-Isanti.
Boys
Junior Edmond Morris was a top performer among the Wildcat boys, winning the 100-meter dash in 11.24 seconds and finishing second in the 200 meters dash. Senior Ben Paulsen came in second in the 110-meter hurdles and ran to a third-place finish in the 400-meter run. The 4x100 relay team of Ieuan Bailey, Blake Seifert, Gabe Jensen, and Morris won with a time of 45.56 seconds. Trent Guth finished third in the pole vault, and Seifert took second in the triple jump.

Girls
Addy Barrett and Ava Bringgold led the way for the Wildcat girls. Bringgold won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.78 seconds and came in first in the high jump at 5’0”. She also finished third in the 100-meter dash. Barrett came in second in both the 200-meter dash and the long jump. And Barrett and Bringgold both ran on the winning 100-meter relay team that included Bene’ Smith and Kendra Warren, clocking in at 51.03 seconds. Other top three finishers for the girls were Kaia Osmundson second, 1600 meters; Annika Hall, second, 3200 meters; Smith, second, pole vault; and Warren, second, triple jump.

Track Tidbits
The Wildcats will run in an eight-team invitational tournament at North Branch tomorrow, with the meet starting at 4 p.m. And next Tuesday, April 23, they will head across the border to Osceola High School for an eight-team invitational tournament starting at 4 p.m. that features seven Wisconsin schools.
