Alice Lourene (Hanks) Burnside, 79, of North Branch, MN passed away Friday, August 16, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  Alice was born on February 25, 1945 to Lorenzo and Lourene (Brusewitz) Hanks in Bagley, MN.  She was raised in Bagley where she attended and graduated from Bagley High School in 1963.  She was united in marriage to Arlen Burnside on October 30, 1965 in Bagley.  

She and Arlen moved to the Twin Cities.  She attended Ritters Beauty School in the early 1970’s.  Alice and Arlen moved their family to North Branch in 1980 and raised their three children on a farm where Arlen built her a beauty shop in their home.  She also did Day Care for five years and enjoyed working at Perkins Restaurant until she retired in 2008.

Alice enjoyed hand milking her cow, Tiny, in the early 1980’s.  She enjoyed gardening, quilting, collecting pedestal cake plates, raising chickens, playing cards, mowing grass, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, Arlen; her son Stacy (Jeanne) Burnside, daughter Tracie (Eric) Walter; and son, Chad Burnside; grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla and Samantha Burnside, Lorenzo and Jill-Ann Walter, and Kyle and Katie (Andrew Emberson) Burnside; and great granddaughter Cheyanne; sisters Esther Hilger, Linda (Robert) Heinrich, brother-in-law Perry Burnside; and many other loving relatives and friends.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Lourene; stepfather Frank Brichnac; and sister Karen Burnside.
