Nancy Compton



Nancy Compton, age 66, of Marshall, Minnesota, died under the care of hospice on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at her home in Marshall. Private Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, please direct monetary donations to Nancy's family for use at a later date. Thank you.

Nancy Ann Fee was born on June 11, 1958, is St. Paul, Minneota. She was the daughter of James and Patricia (Reddy) Fee. Nancy was baptized as an infant, received first communion, and was confirmed in the Catholic faith. She moved with her family to Chisago, Minnesota, and attended catholic school through the 8th grade, Nancy went on to graduate from Chisago Lakes High School with the class of 1976 and then further her education at community college.

In April of 1981, Nancy enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably for three years. She worked as a dental technician and, while deployed, met Mr. Kenneth Compton. The couple was married in 1984 and moved around as they followed his military stationing.

Nancy was a devoted mother and homemaker as they moved from New Hampshire, to Connecticut, South Carolina, and Georgia. Nancy also worked retail as a cashier and also dabbled on a local radio station in Georgia. Following her separation, Nancy moved to the Twin Cities area in Minnesota to be near her children. She moved with them again in 2020 to Marshall, Minnesota.

Nancy was a very outgoing and loving person. She gave of herself constantly and always took the opportunity to put others first, particularly her children. She had a great sense of humor and often was the focus of the party, dating all the way back to high school. Further enjoyments in life included drawing, painting, cooking, baking, reading the Bible, watching game shows on TV, and catching another good movie.

Nancy Compton died peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Marshall, Minnesota. She had reached the age of 66 years, two months, and 13 days. Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her daughters, Kyla (and Scott) Spitzer of Marshall, Erin Compton of Marshall; seven siblings, Jim, Mickey, Katie, Dan, Tony, Patrick, Matt; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Patricia Fee.
