THE CHISAGO LAKES LAKE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (LID) BOARD
Accepting candidate applications for the election of one Area 5 Director position and one At Large Director position
The mission of the Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District is to restore, preserve, protect, and enhance the water resources of the Chisago Lakes Chain of Lakes Watershed. The LID Board of Directors meet on the first Monday of each month, 6:30 p.m. at the Chisago County Government Center. If that date conflicts with a major holiday, the meeting will convene on the following Monday.
Election candidate applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must own real property or be a buyer under contract for deed of property within the area they seek to represent. The terms of both the Area 5 and At Large positions begin February 3, 2025, and run until February 2029. The geographical areas are described as follows:
Area 5: Bounded on the east by County Road 24 and County Roads 24/23/91. This includes the western most portion of the Chisago Chain of Lakes watershed. Ellen, Emily, Green, Little Green, Martha, Mattson, School, and Swamp Lakes are included in this area.
At Large: Applicant must be the owner of real property within the LID boundaries or be a buyer under contract for deed of property within the LID boundaries.

Applications must be submitted by December 31, 2024. Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted.
An election for the position will take place between the dates of January 6, 2025, and February 3, 2025. Ballots are accepted until 4:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2025. Absentee ballots will be available for those interested.
Candidates for the open Board of Director positions are invited to attend the January 6, 2025, LID Board meeting to discuss interest and qualifications for the position.
