Gentry Academy 4, Chisago Lakes 2

Gentry Academy Stars’ senior Haley Gray scored at 6:26 of the third period to break a 2-2 tie, and the Stars later added an insurance goal to beat the Wildcat girls’ hockey team 4-2 Tuesday, November 26 at Tartan Arena in Oakdale.  The Stars outshot the Wildcats 29-23 for the game.

The Stars got on the board early in the first period.  Senior Nora DeVries scored to tie it up with just over a minute remaining in the period, assisted by Naomi Eaton and Lauren Schmidt.  After Gentry Academy scored 35 seconds into the third period to re-take the lead, seventh grader Aven Lyckholm scored her first varsity goal for the Wildcats  just 39 seconds later to tie the game at 2-2.  Eaton and Kali Hanson picked up the assists on Lyckholm’s goal.  And after Haley scored a few minutes to break the tie, Elsa Myers added a goal for the Stars with five minutes to go in the game and the Stars shut down the Wildcats the rest of the way to finish off the 4-2 win.

Hockey Hullaballoo

The Wildcats (1-5-0) will head to Princeton First Bank and Trust Ice Arena to play the Princeton/Big Lake/Becker Tigers tonight at 7 p.m.  And the Wildcats will play their sixth away game in a row on Tuesday, December 10 when they take on the Moose Lake Rebels at Riverside Ice Arena in Moose Lake at 7 p.m.
