SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE No. 2024-12-01, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3, MUNICIPAL REGULATION AND LICENSING, AND CREATING SECTION 312, ESTABLISHING
REGULATIONS FOR CANNABIS BUSINESSES

On December 9, 2024, at a Meeting of the Taylors Falls City Council, by majority vote, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2024-12-01 which amends the City Code by amending Chapter 3 and Creating Section 312, ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS FOR CANNABIS BUSINESSES.

Ordinance No. 2024-12-01 ensures compliance with state statutes and mitigates the impacts upon surrounding properties by implementing balanced regulations to protect the integrity of the community as well as protecting the public health, safety, and general welfare of the long-term residents.

In summary Ordinance No. 2024-12-01:
-Repeals and replaces Section 311 of Ordinance 2023-08-00
-Regulates the location, times, quantity, and manner which cannabis businesses are allowed to operate.
-Requires an annual registration to operate a cannabis retail business.
-Establishes general performance standards including, but not limited to, use regulation, registration, buffers, hours of operation, odor, advertising, violations, and enforcement procedures.
