NORTH BRANCH
St. Francis 59, North Branch 46
The Vikings couldn’t shake their losing streak last week, and it stretched six games after they went 0-3, beginning with a Mississippi 8 Conference loss to St. Francis.
Kayla Diedrich had a double-double for the Vikings, scoring 16 points to go with 10 rebounds, and Ella Kuhlman had eight points, eight rebounds and five assists. Jo Bartkey added 11 points, and Katelyn Lattimore had 10, but unfortunately, the Saints led wire-to-wire in the contest.
Little Falls 44, North Branch 43
The non-conference low scoring affair between Little Falls and North Branch unfortunately went the way of the Flyers on Thursday, January 25.
Neither team go much going offensively all night, including an overtime period that featured just five combined points between the two, with Little Falls getting the better of the frame 3-2.
Diedrich had 23 points to lead North Branch and Kuhlman had nine points, but it wasn’t enough to snap the losing skid for NB.
Cloquet 72, North Branch 60
The girls finally broke out of their offensive slump, but the problem was Cloquet was a bit too much to handle defensively for NB.
Diedrich and Kuhlman combined for 40 points and six-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc, but Cloquet built a 12 point lead byt halftime and didn’t give any ground in the second.
Bella Folkema had her best game of the year for NB, scoring nine points to go with six rebounds and three assists.
CHISAGO LAKES
Becker 61, Chisago Lakes 23
The Wildcats didn’t get much going against Becker when the two teams squared off on Thursday, January 25.
CL’s first half was the better of the team, when they scored 16 points, but the ‘Cats only mustered seven points in the second half and Becker cruised to a 38 point win.
Kayla Larsen led the ‘Cats with seven points while Becker’s Alexis Rose outscored CL by herself with a game-high 24 points.
Rock Ridge 70, Chisago Lakes 42
Chisago Lakes didn’t fare much better against the 15-2 Rock Ridge Wolverines on Friday, January 24.
RR comandeered the lead early and never relinquished it en rout to the 28 point win.
