North Branch avenges two earlier M8C losses
Big Lake and Becker were the opening salvos in North Branch’s seven game losing streak earlier this year, so the Vikings are hoping wins over the two starts a similar streak, just in winning fashion.
North Branch 86, Big Lake 68
The Vikings rode their big three hard in their win over Big Lakes on Tuesday, January 30.
Tyler Minke scored 31 points, Noah Thorsen had 22 and Brody Beaver added 21 points, six assists and six steals to propel North Branch over the Hornets.
North Branch 81, Becker 74
The Vikings used a massive second half to erase a six point deficit and beat the Becker Bulldogs on Friday, February 2.
North Branch scored 54 points in the closing half, aided by a big night from Beaver, who ended with 31 points and three steals. Minke added 16 points and eight boards and Thorsen chipped in 13 points in the winning effort.
The Vikings are now in the midst of their long road trip to essentially end the season. The trip started at Becker and winds through Chisago Lakes, Cambridge-Isanti, Princeton, Monticello and St. Francis before one final home game on the year against Zimmerman on Thursday, February 29. The game up this week is Cambridge-Isanti on Friday, February 9
