Patrick John Lee, Sr., born January 21, 1938, died February 1, 2024.

He was preceded in death by parents Joseph Lee, Sr. and Laura Lee, and brother Joseph, Jr.

He is survived by his wife Jan and his son Pat Lee, Jr. Sisters Sue, Mary and Ann. Also survived by many former service members and friends.

Pat was born in Hudson, WI, but grew up in White Bear Lake, MN, where he graduated and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1958. That same year, he married his high school sweetheart Jan Menke, and they moved to Washington state. Pat Jr. was born in Alwaco, WA in 1959.

Thus started a 20-year career in the United States Air Force that took the family around the world. He served in Spain, Philippines, Thailand and Turkey and throughout the United States.

One of Pat’s proudest accomplishments was when he and Pat Jr. built a replica of a World War I Tiger Moth aircraft and flew it! He also loved to fly the Comanche and made many trips to the Oshkosh, WI airshow, with Pat, Jr., camping under the wing of his plane. As an avid motorcycle enthusiast, he rode his bike to Alaska twice with family and friends, camping all the way. One of the highlights of his motorcycle adventures was going back to Washington state to show his son where he was born. Also, a trip to remember was the Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally, in Washington D.C., where he visited the Vietnam Memorial Wall.

Most recently, he drove a school bus for the Chisago Lakes area school district. He loved all the kids and they loved him in return. He also had a mini “egg” route that he delivered to many of his customers and many many friends.

Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 25267 Redwing Ave, Shafer, MN 55074 on February 19, 2024 at 11 a.m. Visitation 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral. Burial at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery following the service.
