Dr. Apolinar Eduardo Arevalo Jovellana Jr. “Ed,” 76 years old, of Lindstrom, Minnesota, formerly Neillsville, Wisconsin, sadly left us on February 4, 2024 following a massive stroke.
Ed was born on October 13, 1947 to Apolinar Jovellana Sr. and Remedios Arevalo Jovellana in Manila, Philippines. He was known by his family to be reserved and studious. Ed graduated medical school from University of the East, Ramon Magsaysay in Quezon City, Philippines.
In 1976, the Jovellana family immigrated to St. Paul, MN. Ed lived and worked in a few places in the Midwest before meeting and marrying Lori (Carlson) Jovellana in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 15, 1988. They lived together in Hayward, WI where he worked at Lac Courte Oreilles Community Health. In July of 1991, Ed and Lori welcomed their daughter, Jenna. The following year, Ed and his family moved to Neillsville, WI, where he worked for Neillsville Memorial Hospital. He then finished his working career at Forest County Potawatomi: Health & Wellness Center in Crandon, WI.
Following his retirement in 2013, Ed enjoyed going to movies and music performances, taking care of his cars, and traveling the world. He loved to plan and arrange all the travel and was fortunate to visit over 60 countries with his family.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Apolinar Sr. and Remedios. He is survived by his wife, Lori and daughter, Jenna, as well as his six younger siblings: Mario (Agnes), Roberto (Evelyn), Jose, Emily (Michael), Rodolfo (Michelle), and Susan, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 10, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, in St. Paul, MN with a visitation at 9 a.m. Ed will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN.
