Mark Rignell, 50, of Little Canada, was known as a devoted son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend and a work colleague to many. He was a native of Chisago City, and a graduate with the Chisago Lakes High School class of 1991. Mark’s gentle tone and demeanor served him well in his career as a call center specialist, most recently giving 10 plus years to Caliber Auto Glass in Brooklyn Park.
Mark enjoyed reading; he was very interested in being financially literate. He appreciated all types of music. Similar to his parents and his brother, Mark showed a passion and an aptitude for sharing his voice through singing.
He was usually open to friendly games both indoors and outdoors, including bocce ball and cribbage. Mark loved to watch professional wrestling and many local sports, but especially involving the Minnesota Twins or Vikings.
Mark believed in Jesus, and knew he would be joining loved ones in Heaven including his parents, Doug & Marilyn Rignell, and an uncle, Rod Westerman.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Britta Rignell, and a nephew, Linus Rignell, of Forest Lake; aunt, Marge Westerman, of Oakdale; aunt and uncle, Marlys and Dave Rignell, of Coon Rapids; first cousins, Dianna Holmgren (Mark) of Cass Lake; Rick Rignell (Beth) of Maple Grove; Brian Rignell (Stephanie) of Elk River; Todd Westerman (Heather) of Murrysville, PA; Chad Westerman (Mandy) of Oakdale; and all of their families.
Mark will be missed also by special family friend, Chris Jambretz, of Mounds View, and so many others. All of Mark’s survivors were saddened to witness his struggles with complications from diabetes and kidney dialysis at his young age, but we are comforted to know he is now at peace.
Please join in celebrating Mark’s life at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 17, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chisago City, MN. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, Minnesota and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Chisago Memorial Park immediately following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the National Kidney Foundation, the Minnesota Twins Community Fund, or a local library.
