Wildcats blank Visitation in section opener but fall in semis
Chisago Lakes 11, Visitation 0
In the quarterfinals of the Section 4A playoffs, the third-seeded Wildcat girls’ hockey team crushed the sixth-seeded Visitation Blazers 11-0.
The Wildcats scored six goals in the first period, four in the second and one in the third, outshooting the Blazers 37-8 for the game. Wildcat goalie Breanna Ritter stopped all eight shots she faced to pick up the shutout. The game was played on Saturday, February 10 at Chisago Lakes Arena. The win sent the Wildcats to a section semifinal matchup against the second-seeded South St. Paul Packers that took place earlier this week. The Packers topped the Wildcats 5-3 with two late goals to end CL’s season. There will be a full story in next week’s Chisago County Press.
Three Wildcats scored two goals each in the blowout win: Lexi Smothers, Brooke Klemz, and Nora DeVries.
