Rev. George H. Jr. Cruys, age 89 of Chisago City, Minnesota, Retired ELCA Pastor.  

George is preceded in death by his beloved wives, Kerine and Janet; parents, George and Mae; nephew John Ostlund.  He is survived by his sons Chaplain Stephen (Connie) and Paul (Julie) Cruys; stepsons Brian (Victoria Rico), Ross, Keith, and Mark Flakne; daughter-in-law Diane Flakne; sister Charleen Crandall; grandchildren Erin (Jason) Beauchamp, Sarah Repp, Nicole Noto, Caroline Cruys, Kylee Cruys, Sydney Cruys; and Kathryn, Cameron, Tyler, Stephanie, Veronica, Adam Flakne; great-grandchildren Lenore, Matthew, Audrey, Lacey, Olivia, Abigail, Urijah; nieces Kayleen (Gene) Lunderborg, Cheryl Manke, Mary (Al) Mileski, and Nancy (Don) Trosvig.  

George was born on February 16, 1935, and was a graduate of South High School, Augsburg College, Northwestern Lutheran Theological Seminary (now Luther), Minneapolis.  He was Ordained in 1963, and served parishes in Fargo, ND; Lengby, Lindstrom and Minneapolis.  

Memorial services will be held 11a.m. Monday, February 26, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 13025 Newell Ave., in Lindstrom, MN with visitation 4-7 p.m. Sunday, February 25 at Grandstrand Funeral Home, 11900 Lake Lane North, in Lindstrom, MN and one hour prior to service at church.  

Private interment at Fairview Cemetery, Lindstrom, MN.
