NB crushes ‘Cats to break out of skid
North Branch 76, Chisago Lakes 43
The North Branch girls basketball team took the anger of their three game losing streak out on Chisago Lakes when the two teams squared off fresh out of the holiday break on Friday, January 5 at North Branch High School.
The Wildcats stayed competitive throughout a lot of the first, half, trailing only 20-15 with just under six minutes left in the half. But, North Branch, fueled by a barrage of Ella Kuhlman and Kayla Diedrich three pointers, went on a 19-4 run in the last five minutes of the half to turn a close, competitive game into a blowout at half at 39-19.
North Branch added to their lead steadily in the second half and the undersized Wildcats didn’t have an answer for them, with the Vikes eventually winning 76-43.
