Chisago Lakes 96, Princeton 75

Chisago Lakes crushed Princeton in the second half to take a big win over a Tigers team that has been a top Mississippi 8 stalwart for years.

Princeton is down quite a bit from their heyday, as they are 0-12 on the year, so when the first half was close, the Wildcats were getting a bit worried. They were only up by two points at 44-42, but in the second half, Patrick Rowe and Ian Larsen exploded on offense while the CL defense locked up Princeton. 

The ‘Cats outscored the Tigers 52-23 in the second half and Rowe ended the game with 44 points and Larsen with 21. Their output alone matched Princeton’s 65 points. Both Ben Paulesen and Luke O’Malley chipped in seven points each and Will Walker scored six.

Cambridge-Isanti 76, Chisago Lakes 73

The Wildcats three game winning streak came to a halt when they hosted the Bluejackets on Thursday, January 11.

The Wildcats trailed by double digits early in the second half, only to storm back and tie the game and send it to overtime. But, Cambridge-Isanti took advantage of a shortened CL rotation that was missing second leading scorer Zander Schmidt, who was out with an injury. Rowe scored 34 points for the ‘Cats and Larsen had 19 while Paulsen and O’Malley chipped in nine each.

Cambridge had four players in double digits, led by John Troolin’s 24 and Emerson Droubie’s 22 point, 10 rebound, five steal effort.

The Wildcats are now 8-4 on the year and will be on the road for four of their next five games. They traveled to Zimmerman earlier this week before going over to St. Francis on Thursday, January 18. They’ll host Big Lake on Tuesday, January 23 before away match ups against Becker and Monticello.
