Patrick Foss, 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on June 22, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Catherine. Patrick proudly attended and graduated from Cretin High School. After high school, he enrolled in the Air Force Reserves and was called to duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis, serving for six years.

In the early 1960s, Patrick began his involvement with the St. Paul Winter Carnival, starting as a Kings Guard and concluding his tenure as a Captain. In 1964, he married the love of his life, Karon (Rother), and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on October 3, 2024. Early in their marriage, they purchased property on Big Doctor Lake in Siren, WI, where they built a cabin and spent April through October for many years.

Patrick started his career with Deluxe Check Printers in 1959, working in the printing area. After 40 years of dedicated service, he retired in 1999 as the Director of the Employee Assistance Program. After retiring, Patrick and Karon enjoyed winters in Arizona, hiking mountains, walking trails, and going on cruises. Patrick cherished fishing trips with his brother Bob and friends to places like Lake of the Woods and Canada. He was proud to eventually take his sons on these trips. Patrick had a passion for music and enjoyed playing several instruments, including the accordion, keyboard, and piano. He especially cherished playing guitar and singing with his brother Bob.  Patrick had a big heart for his fur grandbabies, Oliver and Bella, and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t have done for them. Just mentioning their names would bring a smile to his face.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Karon (Rother); three children: Catherine (partner Tim), Joseph (partner Gina), and John (Shawna); seven grandchildren: Mandie (Nick), Samuel (partner Ashley), Jacob (partner Kaylie), Katelyn (partner Jake), Brady (partner Abby), Andrew, and Evan (fiancé Elaine); six great-grandchildren: Myka, Duke, Rocco, Axel, Archer, and Lily; and his sibling, Robert (Sandy).

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at THE CREAMERY (21279 Olinda Trail No.) in Scandia.
