Richard Lunzer
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard Joesph Lunzer Jr age 80, on May 24, 2024. He was born in St. Paul, to Richard and Mary (Ciccone) Lunzer on December 23, 1943. He was the oldest of five children, graduating from Harding High school where he met Judith Fischer, and they married on December 26, 1964. He enlisted in the Army serving from 1962 to 1966. Dick moved up the ranks at the Pioneer Press from Journeyman pressman to a Production manager. He was also a part time police officer for the cities of Chisago and Lindstrom and owned VP's Pizzeria in Chisago. After retirement he worked in transportation with special needs children at Chisago Lakes Bus Service.
Dick will always be remembered fondly for making people laugh.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Mary, and beloved wife of almost 50 years, Judith, sister-in-law Linda Fisher, brother-in-law Butch Fisher. He is survived by siblings; Pat (Karin), Jerry (Eve), Carolynn (Greg)Lennartson, and James; children, Richard (Renee), Robb (Cathie), and Rick (Liz) Lunzer; grandchildren, Courtney, Jake, Haley, Tyler (Ashley) Lunzer; great grandchildren Vivian and Lilly; dear friend Barb Anderson; nephew Shawn Fisher,who was like a son, and his girls, Shayla and Grace along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place on June 19 from 4–7pm at Chisago Lake Township Hall, 12400 316th Street, Lindstrom MN. The funeral will be a private ceremony remembering Dick in the presence of close family.
