Thomas Edward "Tom" Lawlor, 68, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on May 3, 2024. He was born on December 19, 1955, in Billings, Montana, to Robert E and Lucille (Haertzen) Lawlor. He leaves behind his siblings, John(Nancy), Catherine (Stone) and Peter.
Tom attended St. Thomas the Apostle Primary and Southwest High School in Minneapolis, MN, and graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, lowa, where he was a member of their tennis and basketball teams. He had a passion for sports, including golf, squash, and card games. Tom was also an avid gardener and known for his specialty dishes from the kitchen.
Above all, Tom's greatest love was his children, Aubrey, lan, Reece, and Richard (stepson). He was dedicated to spending quality time with them, coaching basketball and soccer, leading as a scout leader, and actively participating in church and school activities.
Tom played a significant role in establishing a successful youth soccer program in Chisago Lakes, where he coached and served on the board for over 20 years. He was a member of the Chisago Lakes School Board and an active participant at St. Bridget's of Sweden Catholic Church.
A Celebration of Life and funeral service will be held on June 15, 2024, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (7180 Hemlock Ln N, Maple Grove, MN 55369). The gathering will begin at 11am, followed by the service at noon.
Contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, or LARA in Lindstrom, MN.
Tom will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness, dedication, and love. He will live on in our hearts and memories.
