Mark Swirtz


Mark Vincent Swirtz, age 69, of Lindstrom, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at his residence in Lindstrom, MN.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024 at Lord of the Lakes Church, 25402 Itasca Ave N, Forest Lake. Visitation one hour prior.  Evening visitation 4 PM – 7 PM, the night before at Grandstrand Funeral Home, in Lindstrom, MN. Burial at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Wilfrid and Patricia (Coleman) Swirtz; brothers, Joel and David Swirtz; siblings-in-law, John Treziok, Charles Treziok, Raymond Treziok, Daniel Treziok, Mary Treziok, and Darlene Hogan.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Janine (Treziok); daughters, Amber (Corey) Nelson, and Adele (Rick) Heinen; grandchildren Michael, Joshua and Dominick Heinen, and Jordan and Emily Nelson; brothers, Paul (Mary), John (Annette), James (Paula), Anthony (Adrienne), and Adam (Jennifer); sister Mary (Dave) Winter; brother-in-law Walter (Barbara) Treziok; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Mark was a Christian, a Constitutional Conservative, Pro-Life, Supporter of Israel, Supporter of President Trump, Precious Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He adored his family. He was the father of two beloved daughters and two fabulous sons-in-law. Proud grandfather of four high school graduates and one winner of the “president’s award for educational excellence” who will start high school next year grandchild.

He measured wealth with faith in Christ and love of family.

He was the richest man I ever knew.

He is home with the Lord and I cherish that, but we will always miss him.

He worked for Dalton Gear Co. for 46 years 9 months and 29 days before retirement. He was union president for many years for steelworkers local 2002.

He loved donating his time as a scout leader for years with three of his grandsons. He was also an Awana leader.

He was raised Catholic at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Minneapolis. He graduated from Minneapolis South High School in 1973, where he met and fell in love with Janine Treziok, they were together for 54 years. He was confirmed Lutheran at Holy Cross Lutheran Church LCMS in Minneapolis. Married to Janine at Holy Cross Lutheran Church LCMS in Minneapolis, they missed their 50th wedding anniversary by six months. Moved to Lindstrom MN in 1992 and has been a member of Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church LCMS Chisago City for 31 years.

He has made the world a better place and we thank Almighty God for him.

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord. Thank you our Savior for the gift of Mark, a very precious gift indeed.
