The city of North Branch is adding to its already impressive miles of “safe routes to schools” (see map) and a section of the County Road 30 project is included on the list of pending safe routes zones.  The County is lead agency for scheduled improvements to be made along #30— from Stacy northward to Highway 95— and an open house was held last week to meet informally with citizens and answer questions.

People were reminded the corridor will be the site this summer of some surveying activity, wetlands are being delineated and soils are being tested in preparation for roadwork scheduled in 2025.

Chisago County’s Ben Hobert is the project contact person.  As specific project details come together there will be more public meetings and information shared.

Also, the start date for the watermain work along Hwy 95 in downtown North Branch, has been announced as April 1.  (Story Press Feb. 29.)
