Lots of events this weekend, get out and have some fun

Where has time gone?  We are already at the Chisago Lakes Showcase this weekend.  Never heard of the Showcase? None of us have. That’s because the Home Show that we all have known since the early 80’s has been rebranded and shortened to one day.  The show is still jam packed with businesses of all kinds all with something special to offer you for your home or business.  The show runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is being held at the Wildcat Center at the High School.  Stop by and register for one of three yearly subscriptions to be given away.

If you are a fan of playing Bingo, boy are you in luck.  We have two bingo events for you this weekend.  Friday evening at 6:30pm, the Taylors Falls Lions invite you and your family to their annual hard and turkey bingo.  The games are held at the Taylors Falls Community Center where they will have food and beverages available for purchase. They are asking for donations of your old eye glasses to be donated.  If you are like me, you have a pair or six laying around.

Saturday evening the American Legion Post 272 invite any and all to the Uncommon Loon for their spring bingo.  Games start at 7 p.m. Along with bingo they will have meat raffles as well as the Boy Scouts will be selling snacks and refreshments.

This is the last weekend to take advantage of the  St. Bridget of Sweden Fish Fry.  They have had a wonderful turnout for the meals so far, so if you haven’t had it yet, this is the time to act.  The meal runs from 5-7 p.m. and is all you can eat.

Parents of young children, this weekend make sure to grab the kids and their Easter baskets and head to Paradise Park on Saturday.  Chisago City will once again be hosting their annual Egg Hunt at 2 p.m.  Your kids will enjoy a massive egg hunt as well as games, the Easter Bunny photo ops, and an Easter bonnet/hat contest.  There is a coloring contest for them to enter and you can pick up the sheets at Brinks Market or Chisago City Hall.  They do advise to not be late, the hunt starts promptly at 2 p.m.
