Colleen Meyers

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen Jessica Meyers, who left us peacefully on May 19, 2024 at the age of 51. Colleen was a cherished member of our family and a beloved friend to many.

Colleen's kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 1992 and went on to earn a degree from Pine Technical College in Minnesota. Colleen then worked at Fairview Lakes Hospital as a housekeeper for 17 years. During her time at Fairview, Colleen made many lifelong friends and could easily be pointed out by her bright scrubs and beaming smile. Colleen was passionate about doll collecting, renaissance fairs, arts and crafts, crocheting, and reading and writing.

These hobbies brought her immense joy and inspiration, and she shared this passion with those around her. Her dedication to these activities showcased her talent and her love for beauty, creativity, and storytelling. Colleen had a special gift for seeing the best in everyone, believing in miracles, and creating magic wherever she went.

Family and friends will forever remember Colleen's warm smile, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering support. Colleen's laugh was so loud and joyous that it often got her in trouble in movie theaters, but it was a testament to her exuberant personality and love of life. Though she had no children of her own, Colleen was a loving mentor and a safe haven for her nieces, nephews, and many other youths within her community. She had a unique ability to bring people together and make everyone feel valued and loved.

Though she may no longer be with us in person, Colleen's memory will live on in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Colleen is preceded in death by her mother Kathleen Meyers, grandparents Audrey and William Wagner, Harold and Esther Meyers, aunts and uncles Susie Sindelar, William (Pork) Wagner, Aunt Kathy Davis, and Cousins Brian Nelson, Edward Wagner, Jesse Meyers, and Audra Eldred.  Colleen was also preceded by her dear friend Sarah.

Colleen is survived by her loving family: Dad Jim (Jeannie), siblings and close family Robbie, Sheridan (Monty), Allyson (Tim), Amanda (Mike), Amie (Jeff), Michael (Toni), Kristine (Jason); Aunt Jeanne, Uncle Bob (Ginger), Uncle Gary (Terri), Bridget (Dustin), Brenda, Shawn (Carl), Leesa, Linda, Micheal (Alyson). She also leaves behind her dear nieces & nephews Jessica (Jakob), Carl, Abigail (Jack), Stella, Jasmine, Duane and Emmett; great nephews Glenn, Miles, and William, her cat companion Babs, and other loved family members.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Colleen's life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Lakes Free Church in Lindstrom, Minnesota with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Following the funeral service, a graveside service and burial will be held at Panola Cemetery.  A luncheon will be served at Panola Valley Gardens after the burial service.  Arrangements by  Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN.
