‘Cats score 30 goals over two games, but only go 1-1
Chisago Lakes 16, Minneapolis 6
Ben Kerkow went bananas against Minneapolis, scoring four goals and recording six assists in CL’s domination of the big city co-op.
The ‘Cats also got hat tricks from Jake Haseltine and Declan Sullivan, as well as two-goal performances from TJ Kofler and Judah Goehring.
Cam Triplett and Quinn Fitzgerald scored the other goals for CL as they ran away from MPLS.
Zane Adams got his first win for the ‘Cats, making four saves on 10 shots.
Andover 15, Chisago Lakes 14
The Andovers Huskies came into the game against CL with a nice 7-2 record, losing only to conference stalwarts Champlin Park and Centennial.
The two teams battled, with Kerkow and Max Bobrowski putting on an offensive show for CL, combining for 11 points, but on defense, the Wildcats couldn’t contain Andover junior Kaleb Weikel, who scored seven goals to go along with three assists.
Kerkow scored four goals with two assists and Bobrowski had two goals and three assists, which also led to another hat trick for Haseltine, but the Wildcats still fell by a thin margin.
Chisago Lakes’ record now stands at 5-5 on the year, and they end with two away games at Forest Lake and Monticello. The Rangers are 1-11 this year, but Monticello is sitting at 7-4 and will provide a stiff test for the ‘Cats.
